Michelle Murphy Clapp

Michelle Murphy Clapp is Director, Strategic Delivery & Growth for Infectious Diseases and Critical Care and is based in the greater Jacksonville area of Florida. Michelle has 16 years of clinical research experience, the past 10 of which have been spent predominantly in infectious disease and vaccine development. In her current role, Michelle guides biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostics companies in the planning, implementation and execution of clinical development programs investigating assets in the diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases.

Prior to joining Fortrea, Michelle was a project manager on the fastest-enrolling United States government (USG)-funded COVID-19 vaccine mega trial under the program previously referred to as Operation Warp Speed (OWS). During her 16-year career in the drug development space, Michelle contributed to FDA approval of eight assets inclusive of vaccines and therapies. In 2023, Michelle was recognized as a “Top 25 Healthcare Technology Leader of Jacksonville” published in The Healthcare Technology Report. In 2022, she received the “Hometown Hero Award” sponsored by the McIntosh Law Firm and Davidson College Athletic Department, in recognition of her service to Lake Norman and surrounding communities. Michelle earned an undergraduate degree in Communications from Kutztown University. She joined our company in 2021.
